This week: 241.5 ... 241 ... 239.5 ... 239 ... 238 ... 237 ... 237.5

During this recent period when I have been backsliding in terms of accountability to the original BMGS program, my slightly dim thought was that as long as my net weight lost stayed between 35 and 40 pounds, I could live with that while perhaps summoning the clarity of focus to move forward with a new phase of the campaign soon.

Okay, that was all well and good while it lasted. Today the scale jumped up on me, and yesterday my back ached and I felt gimpier than usual, so, well, I'm not going to talk about it much here, but it is time to be accountable again: Daily net calorie intake of 1600 calories if I work out, 1750 if I don't, and focused exercise 5 days a week, even if it is just a walk. Going to take more walks - Spring is almost here. And I am going to bring the accountability session into a (hopefully) dull daily post rather than sticking it in a sidebar.

Friday 3.14.08

  • Weighed in at 241.5, down 32 from 8/31/07

  • 1:30 pm - Chicken fiesta salad with fruit, bread, and cheese plate & coffee with skim milk - 705 calories
  • 1 pm and 3:30 pm - 30 min walk total - 210 calories burned
  • 6 pm - Southwest turkey pepper jack sandwich - 470 calories
  • 7 pm - 3/4 cup ice cream w/ sauce -250 calories
  • Total: 1790 calories consumed; 210 burned - 1580 net calories

  • 12:30 pm - 2 turkey & avocado sandwiches, 2 coffees with skim milk - 750 calories
  • 8:15 pm - Turkey tips with 1/2 cup each of mashed potatos & squash - 650 calories
  • Total: 1765 calories consumed; --- burned - 1765 net calories

  • 1:15 pm - Cajun turkey tips with 1 cup rice n beans - 680 calories
  • 4:30 pm - 30 min walk with Kip - 210 calories burned
  • 7 pm - 9 oz. broccoli florets (75 calories) with no-cal ranch dressing, 16 oz. fresh strawberries (315 calories); coffee with skim milk - 405 calories
  • Total: 1450 calories consumed; 210 burned - 1240 net calories

  • Noon - Chicken fajita salad with chips & salsa, iced tea - 655 calories

  • Weighed in at 237.5, down 36 from 8/31/07 - up half a pound from yesterday despite being right on target calorie-wise yesterday - obviously a matter of water weight, since I weighed in at 5:15 am and didn't work out yesterday
  • 5:45 am - Reduced fat turkey bacon sandwich & coffee with soy milk - 365 calories
  • 1 pm - Fresh strawberries, grapes, bananas - 125 calories
  • 4 pm - Lentil soup, yogurt - 300 calories
  • 7 pm - Turkey tips, carrot cake - 900 calories
  • Total: 1690 calories consumed; --- burned - 1690 net calories
