Warning ... Baby Pictures Ahead

This morning I paid a visit on my 33-day-old grandson and his excellent Mom.

My opinion is that it doesn't get any better than this. I've never been a picture-taking, baby-picture kind of guy. But can I help myself here? No chance.

So it isn't really a departure for me to top it off with a schmaltzy song for today's soundtrack.

On-topic, interesting op-ed piece in today's Times: Tighten Your Belt, Strengthen Your Mind

The idea that mental discipline, will power, the ability to apply oneself mentally and blood sugar levels are connected is, frankly, consistent with my experience in the BMGS campaign. It might even help to explain the recoil effect that so many of us often experience after a period of weight loss. There's just enough science in the linked article that it appeals to me, and if having some sugar in my coffee and beginning the day with an apple fritter instead of a breakfast sandwich will make my efforts more successful, it is worth a try. It is also a benefit if it keeps me from putting those uglu chemical artificial sweeteners into the temple that is my body.

Hey Steve,

Your grandson's hairline is somewhat similar to your own! His, however, will be filling in more.

You are right; these moments together are the best.
